Adult Education
Adult Christian Education at Christ
Church offers two classes weekly. Beginning September 9, sessions will meet on
Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:00 AM, between the two services in the Heritage
Room. The basic format is study of the Scripture texts of the day – Old
Testament and New Testament, Psalm and Gospel – though we also have occasional
single special sessions on topics of other sorts.
On Wednesday evenings, an adult education class meets for various studies
at 6:00 pm for a light supper and class begins at 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Sunday School
We offer Sunday School programming for
children from 3 year olds through Sixth Grade. Programming begins in September
and runs from 9:20a.m. to 10:20 a.m. in the second floor of Vinter Hall. The
three
year old through second grade will meet every Sunday to learn God’s Word using
the Godly Play curriculum by Jerome Barryman. We have added a dozen new stories
to the curriculum. The third to sixth grades will meet every Sunday to learn
God’s Word using the Godly Play curriculum (new stories) and the
lectionary-based curriculum
Living the Good News. For the Worship and Celebration portion of
this ministry we have four dates for the children to worship in song during the
10:30 a.m. service. There will be weekly practice to help the children sing
confidently and to enjoy the worship participation.

Youth
Group
The Youth Group at Christ Church is involved
in a variety of educational, service, and fellowship activities. We welcome all
middle and high school-age youth and generally meet on Wednesday nights at
6:00PM. We have been using the J2A (Journey to Adulthood) and Rite 13
curriculums. The J2A and Rite 13 programs are produced by Leader Resources, an
ecumenical Christian educational resource center.
We start by sharing a meal after which we do a variety of activities such
as movies, games, study and discussion. We also meet for social events where the
youth are encourage to bring friends or family. The annual Shrove Tuesday
pancake supper, the Lenten Tenebrae service, the CROP walk and volunteering at
WAFER are some of the service ministries the youth have been involved with.
